Howdy friends
Well I certainly have got some exercise in today! I feel like I’ve traipsed all over this city (I didn’t) but it just feels like that in the thigh area…
I found this great shop called Pantry Magic! It was a foodie/bakers dream and is right near my new apartment.
I can’t wait to explore this place more!
Met the curtain guy, he measured, he gave me an outrageous quote, I thanked him kindly and off I went. Babow. What a waste of time.
Off to Sincere (a department store) I went in search of curtains. No curtains at Sincere FYI. Or at Wing On (another department store) for that matter. Looks like we are going back to Ikea or to Shenzhen (in China) after Chinese New Year. I snacked on an Alpen bar while out and about but no photo sorry.
Then to the gym I went. Workout today was a big old mix:
- 15 min run, 10kph – 2.42km
- 15 min Elliptical
- 15 min upright bike
all while watching the Lord of the Rings. Who know which movie it was but it sure passed the time!
Then I did:
- 20 lunges each leg with 5kg weights
- 50 squats with 1 x 8kg weight
- 50 plies
and some stretching.
Next up, off I went to get some lunchity lunch because by then I was marving. So I was thinking maybe some wanton soup round the corner from our new place? Anyway I took a seat at a place over the road that looked like it would have such a thing and well, it didn’t. Next best thing? My favourite vegetable, broccoli. Now the menu said “Fried broccoli with garlic”. I half thought “fried” would mean “stir-fried” because I have never seen a fried piece of broccoli but they sure do love to fry over here so you never know. Anyway, I took the punt and it turned out to be stir-fried. Still I think there was quite a lot of oil in this…
But anyway, who cares, this was amazingly delicious… I wouldn’t normally eat a whole plate of broccoli and who knows what they added to it to make it taste so good, but wow… I couldn’t help it, it was so good! I will be back as it is over the road from our new place! I bet the rest of the menu is good too. So obviously I was breathing garlic all afternoon but it was worth it.
Next restaurant I walked passed had wanton soup by the way, ha ha!
Next stop, cleaning products. We have a cleaner coming to give the apartment a deep clean tomorrow morning (that is the done thing here in Hong Kong – I know, weird, aren’t you supposed to leave a place clean when you move out in order to get your bond back?. Anyway, it’s a little different for us as our apartment is brand new and has never been lived in but this means it is super dusty. As in everything has a gross layer of dust all over it. So while it may look ok, it really needs that clean. I got all our supplies for the foreseeable future plus mop, bucket, broom, sponges, you name it. I also picked up power boards, globes, got keys cut and carted all of that back and forth.
I snacked on a kiwi fruit in the afternoon but forgot to take a picture. They are so cheap here which is great because I love them!
When I finally got home around 6.30pm I poured myself a big old glass of red.
Seems my palate for alcohol has returned after a 4 day absence.
I stuck to this one glass though because it went straight to my head and I was more in the mood for tea.
I snacked on carrots while I prepped dinner
and a corn thin with goats cheese on top.
I picked up this tiny little organic pumpkin at Park n Shop today. Cute!
Cooked him and the leftover carrot sticks up in my funny little quasi oven with some sea salt, pepper and cumin sprinkled on top.
I had 1/2 the mini pumpkin and the carrots with some salsa and a little corn cobb which I boiled in water.
I was more interested in dessert tonight
.
1 container of Fage 0% plus applesauce and blueberries with a hot cup of Rooibos.
Must have been because I was out and about all day and didn’t get in my usual 5 or so cups of tea, but I was craving this cup of tea so badly! As always it was awesome.
I’m going to chillax for a bit now and have an early night. I’m pooped!
wow you’ve been busy Mad, Hope the move goes well this weekend & eventually you find some curtains.
